Cellular Factors Involved in the Hepatitis D Virus Life Cycle

چکیده

Hepatitis D virus (HDV) is a defective RNA with negative-strand genome encompassing less than 1700 nucleotides. The HDV encodes only for one protein, the hepatitis delta antigen (HDAg), which exists in two forms acting as nucleoproteins. depends on envelope proteins of B helper packaging its ribonucleoprotein complex (RNP). considered causative agent most severe form viral leading to liver fibrosis/cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. Many steps life cycle are still enigmatic. This review gives an overview complete identifies gaps knowledge. focus description cellular factors being involved deregulation pathways by respect their relevance replication, morphogenesis HDV-associated pathogenesis. Moreover, recent progress antiviral strategies targeting structures summarized this article.

Cellular lipid droplets and hepatitis C virus life cycle.

Lipid droplets (LDs) are cellular lipid storage organelles involved not only in lipid homeostasis but also in a variety of diseases. Chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection affects host lipid metabolism, and thus induces LD accumulation in the liver. Recent studies have suggested that cellular LDs also play a crucial role in the HCV life cycle. Interactions between HCV proteins, especially th...

Hepatitis C virus: virology and life cycle

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is a positive sense, single-stranded RNA virus in the Flaviviridae family. It causes acute hepatitis with a high propensity for chronic infection. Chronic HCV infection can progress to severe liver disease including cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma. In the last decade, our basic understanding of HCV virology and life cycle has advanced greatly with the development ...

Phosphoinositides in the Hepatitis C Virus Life Cycle

Eukaryotes possess seven different phosphoinositides (PIPs) that help form the unique signatures of various intracellular membranes. PIPs serve as docking sites for the recruitment of specific proteins to mediate membrane alterations and integrate various signaling cascades. The spatio-temporal regulation of PI kinases and phosphatases generates distinct intracellular hubs of PIP signaling. Hep...

Viral life cycle of hepatitis B virus: Host factors and druggable targets.

Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a globally distributed health problem. The number of carriers of HBV is estimated to exceed 240 million people worldwide. Compared with uninfected individuals, HBV carriers have an increased risk of developing hepatocellular carcinoma. The prevention of HBV infection is therefore strongly recommended, and a HBV vaccine is available. For carriers, treatment w...

Restrictive influence of SAMHD1 on Hepatitis B Virus life cycle

Deoxynucleotide triphosphates (dNTPs) are essential for efficient hepatitis B virus (HBV) replication. Here, we investigated the influence of the restriction factor SAMHD1, a dNTP hydrolase (dNTPase) and RNase, on HBV replication. We demonstrated that silencing of SAMHD1 in hepatic cells increased HBV replication, while overexpression had the opposite effect. SAMHD1 significantly affected the l...
